Polar Park Food Guide 2022: What to eat and where to find it at WooSox games (2024)

The WooSox are back at Polar Park for the 2022 season, which means it’s time to grab some snacks and watch some baseball.

However, finding the best ballpark food to eat can be tricky if you’re new to the park. So if you go to a game and wonder where someone got the Helmet Nachos, the Pulled Pork Sandwich or the Loaded Smiley Fries, this guide is for you.

From Coney Island Hot Dogs’ new location to vegan options at the park, here’s everything you need to know about all the concessions, including the best foods to get and how much they cost.

Here’s a listing of all the notable concessions stands, as listed in the map above (going counter-clockwise from the top). Scroll down for a full rundown on each location:

  1. Nachos and Ice Cream
  2. George’s Coney Island Hot Dogs
  3. Behind the Plate Burgers and More
  4. Infield Fry
  5. WooSox Market
  6. Sweet & Boozy Ice Cream
  7. The Sausage Guy

1. Nachos and Ice Cream

(Located on the third base side concourse | Previously known Hot Dogs and Ice Cream)

This stand has seen a couple of changes since last year. Most notably, it’s joined forces with Nacho Nacho Man and no longer serves the ice cream floats it did last year.

Here’s the good news: There are some new offerings here as well. The Donut Hole Dingers are delightful and come in a souvenir mini helmet -- as does the ice cream. The Dingers (as well as the new fried dough) come plain, but can be loaded up with the provided cinnamon sugar and powdered sugar for maximum deliciousness.

What to get: The Helmet Nachos are back in all their crunchy glory, with pulled pork options joining last year’s chicken and street corn offerings. Regardless of topping, the Helmet Nachos are my top pick for a must-have food at Polar Park.

Full menu

  • Souvenir Helmet Pulled Chicken Nachos (Topped with pulled chicken, nacho cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole, cilantro, crema) - $16
  • Souvenir Helmet Butcher Boy Nachos (Topped with pulled pork, nacho cheese, pico de gallo, barbecue sauce, chipotle aioli) - $16

2. George’s Coney Island Hot Dogs

(Located on the third base side concourse)

Coney Island has upgraded from the stall last year to one of the premier brick-and-mortar concession stands at the park. They’ll need it, too, since they’re one of the hottest vendors at Polar Park.

One of the contenders in our Best of Mass Hot Dogs competition, Coney Island is an efficient, delicious hot-dog making machine. They’ve got hot dogs cooking right on the griddle on-site and come with the usual chili sauce, mustard and onions. It’s everything you want in the famous Three Up (called “The Works” here) dog from Coney Island.

What to get: A hot dog with the works. It’s the best single thing you get can in the park for less than $5.

Full menu

  • Hot Dog (The Works, or whatever combination of toppings you want) - $4
  • Jumbo Pickle - $3
  • Chips - $2
  • Table Talk Pie - $2
  • Beverages: Polar Bottled Water ($4), Polar Sodas/Seltzers ($5), Coffee ($3), Hot Chocolate ($3), Imported/Domestic/Craft Beer ($10), Hard Seltzers ($10), Chocolate Milk ($5)

3. Behind the Plate - Burgers and more

(Located on the concourse behind home plate)

The most self-explanatory concession stand at the park returns with a few new burgers in the lineup, including the new Five Oh Ate Burger, which comes topped with pulled pork and onion rings.

What to Get: The Loaded Smiley Fries. I think it’s going to become a trademark snack of the park and is one of the more fun, sharable items you can get. Meanwhile, burgers tend to be a little cumbersome to eat at a game.

Full menu

  • Five Oh Ate Burger (Barbecue pulled pork, fried onion rings, coleslaw, served with fries) - $12
  • Bacon Me Blue Burger (Blue cheese crumbles, bacon, garlic aioli, served with fries) - $12
  • The Woo Burger (Pastrami, Swiss cheese, fancy mustard, served with fries) - $12
  • Vegetarian Burger - $12
  • All-American Cheeseburger - $12
  • Loaded Smiley Fries (cheese, bacon, sour cream, chives) - $12
  • Snacks: Kelley Korn Dog ($9), Jumbo Hot Dog ($5), Bavarian Pretzel and Cheese ($5), Ballpark Nachos ($6), Popcorn ($4), Peanuts ($3), Cracker Jack ($2), French Fries ($4)
  • Sweets: Table Talk Pie ($2), Cotton Candy ($6), Assorted Candy ($4)
  • Beverages: Polar Bottled Water ($4), Polar Sodas/Seltzers ($5), Coffee ($3), Hot Chocolate ($3), Imported/Domestic/Craft Beer ($10), Hard Seltzers ($10)

4. Infield Fry

(Located on the concourse behind home plate)

This is the spot to get chicken tenders, chicken wings or a grilled chicken sandwich at the park. However, it also has some of Polar Park’s sweet options, including ice cream and fried dough.

What to get: This is another spot to pick up some Donut Hole Dingers and load them up with the provided powdered sugar and cinnamon sugar. Otherwise, you can’t go wrong with chicken tenders.

Full menu

  • Grilled Chicken Tenders and French Fries (choice of Buffalo Sauce, BBQ Sauce or Garlic Parmesan seasoning) - $11
  • Boneless Wings and French Fries (choice of Buffalo Sauce, BBQ Sauce or Garlic Parmesan seasoning) - $12
  • Grilled Chicken Sandwich and French Fries (Onion, lettuce and tomato) - $12
  • Loaded Smiley Fries (cheese, bacon, sour cream, chives) - $12
  • Soft Serve Ice Cream Cup - $5
  • Soft Serve Helmet Sundae - $6
  • Fried Dough - $6
  • Donut Hole Dingers - $6
  • Sweets: Table Talk Pie ($2), Cotton Candy ($6), Assorted Candy ($4)
  • Snacks: Kelley Korn Dog ($9), Jumbo Hot Dog ($5), Bavarian Pretzel and Cheese ($5), Ballpark Nachos ($6), Popcorn ($4), Peanuts ($3), Cracker Jack ($2), French Fries ($4)
  • Beverages: Polar Bottled Water ($4), Polar Sodas/Seltzers ($5), Coffee ($3), Hot Chocolate ($3), Imported/Domestic/Craft Beer ($10), Hard Seltzers ($10)

5. Sweet & Boozy Ice Cream

(Located on the first base side concourse)

One of the park’s new vendors this season, Sweet & Boozy offers up one of the most eye-catching items you can find at the park in the form of their spectacular Thundercup sundaes.

As the name implies, Sweet & Boozy offers alcohol-infused ice cream. However, they do offer standard ice cream flavors as well (for an extra two bucks).

What to get: It’s worth it to go for the Thundercup. The “Oh My Oreo” Thundercup can easily turn into the highlight of a trip to the ballpark. Just look at that thing up there.

Full menu

  • Non-Alcoholic Flavors: Cookies & Scream, Cool Creamsicle, Gimme S’More, Marvelous Mint Chip, Peanut Butta & Cookies - $9
  • Alcoholic Flavors: Baileys Luck of the Irish, Cherry Chocolate Amaretto, Paradise Pina Colada, Peanut Butta Whiskey, Thick Fudgey & Stout - $11

6. The Sausage Guy

(Located on the first base side concourse)

Taking over the stall that previously housed George’s Coney Island Hot Dogs last season, The Sausage Guy is a familiar sight at Fenway Park. Now, the trademark sizzles and smells can be found on the third base side concourse at Polar Park.

What to get: It’s your pick of which type of sausage to get. I’m partial to the sweet sausage. But don’t let me pick for you.

Full menu

  • Sweet Italian Sausage - $9
  • Hot Italian Sausage - $9
  • Wicked Hot Sausage - $9
  • The Wheelhouse Pretzel - $6
  • Beverages: Polar Soda/Seltzer ($5), Polar Bottled Water ($4)

7. WooSox Market

(Located on the first base side concourse)

This location is more of a store than a concession stand, offering a wide variety of grab-and-go options that you can pay for with a self-checkout system.

If you have allergies or dietary restrictions, this is the place to go if you want to be really careful with what foods you’re grabbing at the park. It’s one of the few spots where there are quality vegan options, like a falafel wrap. There are also kosher options and a number of premade wraps, sandwiches and salads. Snacks here range from dried fruit ($4) to chips ($6) to fancy Justin’s Dark Chocolate PB Cups ($9).

Full menu

  • Sandwiches/Wraps - $10-14
  • Salads - $11-14

5. Wonder Bar Pizza

(Located on the first base side concourse)

A Worcester pizza institution for nearly a century at this point, Wonder Bar makes the jump from their Shrewsbury Street location to Polar Park, cranking out fresh pizza from the ovens. It’s all made on-site, which makes it a significant upgrade from your normal ballpark pizza.

What to get: Pizza, obviously.

Full menu

  • Cheese Pizza Slice - $7.50
  • Pepperoni Pizza Slice - $8.50
  • Special Pizza Slice - $8.50
  • Gluten-Free Personal Cheese Pizza - $18
  • Gluten-Free Personal Pepperoni Pizza - $18
  • Whole Cheese Pizza - $38
  • Meatball - $6

B.T.’s Smokehouse Southern Style BBQ

(Located on the upper right field concourse)

B.T.’s is one of the state’s best barbecue joints and is a strong contender for having the single tastiest food options at the park. What’s really cool is that, right next to the B.T.’s stand, there’s a deck with several big tables that you can visit to fully tuck into your BBQ treasure.

Along with the BBQ options, B.T.’s also has multiple sauce options. There’s a vinegar-based sauce that has a nice bite to it as well as a thicker sweet sauce. I’m a fan of the latter.

What to get: Brisket Platter with Mac & Cheese and Potato Salad - If you’re going back to your seat, you might want a sandwich. But I fully endorse the gameplan of taking a break from the seats and heading to the berm to have a mini picnic at the game.

Full menu

  • One Meat Platter (w/ two sides) - $18
  • Two Meat Platter (w/ two sides) - $24
  • Three Meat Platter (w/ two sides) - $30
  • One Meat Sandwich - $15
  • Mini Sandwich - $8
  • Beverages: Polar Soda/Seltzer ($5), Polar Water ($4), Draft Beer ($12)

Sides

  • Pimento Cheese with House Made Pico De Gallo - $12
  • (Add Your Choice of Meat for $6)
  • Bavarian Pretzel with Pimento Cheese - $7
  • Macaroni & Cheese - $5
  • Coleslaw - $5
  • Potato Salad - $5

Taste of Worcester

(Located on Summit Street in center field)

One of the coolest additions to the park this year is the Taste of Worcester concession stand on the newly opened Summit Street area. This stand will host a rotating cast of local restaurants bringing their own specialties to the park.

First up this year is Russo’s Italian Restaurant, which will be at the stand until Sunday, April 17, servicing Italian subs as well as cannoli.

Kids Zone Vendors

Tucked behind the giant video board in center field, just past Gate A is the Kids Zone, a wide-open area with artificial turf that lets kids run around in a playground area.

There are also a couple of small vendors here, including a Dippin’ Dots stand as well as a new cart selling freshly spun cotton candy.

Full menu

  • Regular Dippin’ Dots Ice Cream - $6
  • Souvenir Helmet Dippin’ Dots Ice Cream - $8
  • Fresh-spun Cotton Candy Bag/Cone $7
  • Fresh-spun Cotton Candy Tub - $9
