Where it all began! Whilst cleaning out an old cupboard I came across these polaroids from circa 1989; just before my Dad embarked on his own business journey.I believe the photos were taken in Sweden, showcasing the early DISAB vacuum trucks - The yellow and red paintwork must have inspired Dad for the old Jet-Vac Systems brand.35 years later, the business no longer exists in its original guise (and the vacuum technology is a little more developed) but the memories, friendships and collaborations live on!As I sit here wondering if we went through the same early business decisions and processes, I’d love nothing more than to have a ‘chin wag’ with the old dog.It’s very humbling to nod to the past whilst looking back on where you’ve come from and, It’s true what they say, anyone can start a business, you just need 3 things (in my opinion):A defined set of actionsA realistic timeframe and;A clear goal to work towards…The rest is pure determination!#business #entrepreneur #businessstartup #backyourself #startupcompany #mindset #goals #actions #newbusinesses

Entrepreneur Spotlight. Meet Ammon Condie, entrepreneur, family-man, investor, and franchisee owner of Culver's Restaurants. I have known Ammon for 12 years, and he is one of the most genuine people I know. This complements his role at Culver's very well as he works with over 100 employees, coordinates with managers, trains, and establishes a great place to eat!It's more than just having a great place to eat. Ammon sees it as a great place to gather, and whether it is a family celebrating an event, friends getting together, or a lunch meeting that goes for hours; he's established the place to be and where you can leave your worries at the door.Ammon and partners opened their first Culver's restaurant on January 5, 2019, in Cedar City. They opened their second location in March of 2022, and their third location is opening April 2024. With their third restaurant opening, they will have around 200 employees. Ammon does an amazing job hiring and creating culture. He also cares for his employees and takes care of them. When we spoke, he mentioned that, "What we focus on becomes our reality." Meaning that if we focus on hard, unreliable, frustration, etc. that is generally what we get. "If we focus on the good, the positive, and the solution, that is what we create."His advice to entrepreneurs comes with a story. He was opening his first location and commiserating with an electrician who was turning the power on. Ammon said, "I'm leaving a great job, and I sure hope this works," type of talk. His new friend said, "What do you mean? You're this far, and this is an amazing opportunity. You'll do great!" At that moment, Ammon determined he would build the future he wanted and be positive while doing it. "There is an electric current when we focus. Make sure it is on the positive." Relatable?But if I took that job as a bagger, soon enough I'd be thinking about how a grocery store could be better and before you know it, I'd be off and running on another venture.
