Notes From BCAT Games: Thursday June 20th Edition | Prep Girls Hoops (2024)

The ’26 post has been waiting her turn at Blackman, and I have a feeling she’s about to jump onto the scene in a big way. She’s been dominant on the boards on both ends. Her footwork was impressive around the blocks, where she finished through contact. When she buries opponents deep, it’s simply done. She’s extremely strong, knows how to initiate contact to create space, and can score through contact.

Right out of the gate vs Blackman, Smith County went 4 out 1 in with Claywell in the post position. The upcoming sophom*ore tradition plays more on the wing, so this me she’s got more to her game that her coach (who is really good and runs the TN Rush program) has seen in practice. They didn’t find a lot of success out of this alignment as a team, but it was against Blackman–who nobody finds a ton of success against. But it did tell me that Claywell is an underrated ’27 with more in her bag than we know.

Versus Smith County, the upcoming senior was full throttle hitting gaps hard and getting paint touches. She possesses big time athleticism, and it’s just plain hard to keep her from drawing two defenders, even against Smith County’s 2-3 zone. She manages to make everyone around her better, and can still get her’s when she knows she needs to. Just picked up another offer from UT Martin.

Trinity Chisom

Solid glue kid that defends, rebounds, and knows her role inside the offense. She showed off an impressive game on the block, using her athleticism to drop step from one side of the paint to the other. Really tough to guard one on one. I like this upcoming senior’s game.

Emry Jones

Emry Jones

Looked impressive, especially for her age, versus Blackman. Early in the game, single handedly broke the Blackman press, and pulled for a mid-range jumper off the dribble. Has nice size and length for her position. She’s going to be a real player.

The upcoming senior is primed for a huge season in my opinion. Ramsey will be a steal for someone. She plays extremely hard, defends well, and can legit score at all three levels. She’s had a tremendous spring for TN Rush , is Smith County’s primary option, and has a really high basketball IQ. I liked her game vs Blackman.
