How to get The Prophet this Season

To obtain the newest Aggressive Frame Scout Rifle, players will have to step into the Trials of Osiris. On weekends, where it is the flawless reward, players can grind enough to make it to the Lighthouse to grab their Adept version of the weapon. The new Passage of Persistence allows players to take their time and grind to 7 wins without the pressure of going flawless to obtain an Adept variant.

Alternatively, players can focus Trials of Osiris engrams in the Focused Decoding section at Saint-14 in the Hangar to secure the perfect roll. This method is much more efficient for grinding specific weapons for the average player, but if you’re confident, farming Adept versions of The Prophet may be more straightforward. We cover the Trials weapon this week here.

How good is The Prophet

The Prophet is a 120 RPM Scout Rifle, similar to the Dead Man’s Tale Exotic. However, unlike this Exotic, The Prophet’s hip-fire is incredibly underwhelming (even with a Hip-Fire Grip). This means players should look for more general damage perks instead of hip-fire kills.

In PvP, it is a solid pick. The damage profile of the weapon is very generous with the new breakpoints, as it can kill in 2 crits and 1 body shot, making it incredibly easy to use. They also have a ton of range, meaning you can play safely while taking down your opponents at a distance.

In PvE, The Prophet falls quite short. Scout Rifles aren’t too viable in PvE as there are weapons that simply kill quicker and feel nicer to use. However, as far as Scout Rifles go, The Prophet isn’t too bad. Enlightened Action and Cascade Point could potentially be a solid combo, with Cascade Point boosting the RPM of the weapon massively, increasing the weapon’s DPS.

Overall, The Prophet is a solid weapon in PvP but a tad outclassed in PvE because it is a Scout Rifle.

Best alternatives:

The Prophet Perks and God Rolls

The Prophet Scout rifle can roll with the following perks:

  • Perk 1: Discord, Enlightened Action, Demolitionist, Keep Away, Hip-Fire Grip, Outlaw, and Rapid Hit
  • Perk 2: Cascade Point, Explosive Payload, Golden Tricorn, Headstone, Offhand Strike, Kill Clip, and Precision Instrument
  • Origin Trait: Alacrity, One Quiet Moment, Tex Balanced Stock

The Prophet God rolls, Destiny 2

The Prophet PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Fluted Barrel
  • Magazine: Appended Mag
  • Perk 1: Enlightened Action or Rapid Hit
  • Perk 2: Cascade Point (also good: Explosive Payload or Headstone)
  • Masterwork: Handling
  • Origin Trait: One Quiet Moment

Handling and magazine size is important to increase on Scout Rifles, meaning that Fluted Barrel, Appended Mag, One Quiet Moment, and a Handling Masterwork are all excellent choices as they provide nice stat increases.

Enlightened Action and Rapid Hit are great for Reload Speed, with Enlightened Action increasing Handling and Rapid Hit improving Stability. Cascade Point is the most exciting pick for the second slot as it can help The Prophet deal more damage, but Explosive Payload is good for staggering enemies. Headstone could be used in Stasis builds, making them suitable alternatives.

The Prophet PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Fluted Barrel
  • Magazine: Flared Magwell
  • Perk 1: Keep Away (also good: Rapid Hit)
  • Perk 2: Kill Clip (also good: Precision Instrument)
  • Masterwork: Handling
  • Origin Trait: One Quiet Moment

Once again, Handling is the name of the game, meaning Fluted Barrel, One Quiet Moment, and a Handling Masterwork are preferred. Flared Magwell also provides a nice bump to Stability and Reload Speed, making it the preferred choice for the magazine slot.

Keep Away is a solid pick as you will always be far away from your opponents, meaning you can take advantage of Keep Away very often. Rapid Hit is a suitable alternative, but Keep Away will be better. Kill Clip is the pick for the second perk slot as it allows you to two-tap people, but Precision Instrument lets you create a similar weapon to the old version of Dead Man’s Tale, especially when combined with Rapid Hit.
