It’s February 17th, which means that spring is just over a month away. I love spring, though not the allergies that it brings. But allergy season is no worry for this headphones-wearing woman with main character syndrome who yell sings “Bulletproof” by La Roux as she walks around her neighborhood. It’s actually a great song, but I’m not a big fan of Allegra woman’s rendition. The reaction from YouTube comments is very polarized…what do you think? And anyone know who the woman is?

Agree. I don’t like the ‘in your face’ approach. It would be better if she was toting an A-K in a combat uniform.

I posted on YouTube that normally a commercial like this would really annoy me but I like it and I like her! She’s doing what she’s been told to do and she’s really making it work! Probably helps that I know the song. Reminds me of the blowback over the Rebecca Black “Friday” video from many years ago…

If you are upset at the actress who sings Bulletproof, you are mad at the wrong person. The director sets up the shots to his liking and the actress acts. I thought she did a perfect job of giving what the director asked of her. If we are discussing this commercial, then the director has done his job of making it controversial, and making the ad pick up views.

👏🏼 this is exactly what I’ve been saying about a lot of commercials. The commercial does come off kind of odd but the actress is doing what she’s told to do and collecting a check I’m sure she did not go in there and say this is how I’m going to do it and you’re gonna like it be mad at the Director and the marketing firm

I am nearly 57 years old and a total TV person. I’ve seen my share of the good, bad and ugly in advertisem*nts. This one quite possibly takes the most annoying of all times…and it’s quite a list of competitors. This one actually incites anger in me. And I will not buy Allegr ever because of it. I’m so glad to know I’m not the only one doing just that. I’ll rush to mute my sound, immediately. If, for some reason, I cannot reach the remote in time, I start yelling over the sound so it can’t be heard and all you hear is me, yelling. Might sound stupid to most, but, I’m alone & it keeps me from having to listen to something that REALLY grinds on me, like fingernails on a chalkboard. Seriously. And her look is one of I’m not sure what, anger, disgust, frustration, I’m not sure, but she sure looks mad & screaming at the world. And walking around with her dumb headphones. Oh, does she think she looks so cute that way? I hate that commercial & hence will not buy Allegra. There are many others to choose from. They made a bad choice in creating that commercial.

In short, the answer is that apparently no-one knows who the actress it. Its been said there’s no such thing as bad press. From a marketing standpoint, as much fuss as has been made about it, it’s arguably a successful add campaign if it’s created this much excitement.

the commercial is performed better that the original. The commercial was had a nice beat that had me interested in the song and actress.
After watching the original on you tube I found it very repetitive and in a disco like tone. Also this LaRoux looks like an ass clown with amazingly bad makeup and hairstyle.

Something about young woman, the song, and the overall commercial draws me in. Someone said mesmerizing. I agree, and also add fascinating. I could watch it over and over.
It’s hard for me to understand why some of the comments are so deeply negative on the actress herself. Why would anyone do that?

When a man acts like that he’s confident, but it’s a woman so she is viewed as “angry”. Just like in a movie, the charater in a commercial is scripted and directed. She did what she was told and paid to do. And for those wondering why landscapers are blowing grass and such in her face? Allegra is AN ALLERGY med. Put 2 + 2 together aand you get 4. Not hard.

I think that girl adds an edgey punk sound to the song Bulletproof and I love the angry expressions she’s making with her face while she’s singing it. I just want to find out where I can hear a version of the Bulletproof song that girl is singing that isn’t being blotted out by the announcer on the commercial.

I can’t believe this young actress is being vilified for appearing in this ad. She didn’t create the ad and it probably isn’t even her voice, so ease up and direct your attention to the advertiser and agency that came up with the ad. Like it or not, they have created an ad that has generated a great deal of attention, which is, of course, the goal of every advertisem*nt.

I do wish I knew the name of the actress who appeared in the Allegra commercial who sang Bulletproof by La Roux, which is also one of my favorite songs. A lot of people may find her obnoxious but that’s not fair. She has an amazing singing voice and she’s also really cute. But everyone has an opinion, and if some people find the Allegra bulletproof ad to be annoying, that’s just their opinion, not mine.

The commercial is an absolute abortion. The concept, presentation, content, context, and substance combined to be such garbage. A total waste of production value, beyond compare. The producer and marketing team of this 30 second fecal disaster need to SERIOUSLY think about new careers. The angry Gen-Z gal singing off-key and just absolutely trying too hard. Not an ideal fit, she deserves better opportunities in her career, at least she got paid.
Not Clio award worthy, more like suitable for the landfill.
Not opinion, but fact!

It is a huge deterrent for Allegra products, who ever suggested her to sing and act simultaneously should be on death row right now.
With little to no vocal cords control, angry frowning eyebrows combined with an average GI Joe walk, she should be aiming for a Walmart greeter career.

You know, if we see no captions for any TV commerical including Allegra, then Allegra’s a fraud, even the girl’s a fraud and the song/music all fraud. Any listeners’ comments, whether they good or bad, they fraud. Hmmm… come on, For Real, Caption!
